New Music of the Week (March 18, 2014)

This week brings us some amazing releases.  If you love some melodic hard rock and have some money to spend, I’ve got the albums for you!

First up is an album titled I Am The Fire by guitar virtuoso Gus G.  Gus G was the founding member of Firewind and became the guitar player for Ozzy Osbourne a few years ago as well.  This is his first solo outing, and on it he brings some friends of the industry.

The Pretty Reckless have been around for a while, but I am just getting to know them.  They have a great mixture of 80’s and 90’s rock.  Going To Hell is the new album.

No metalhead worth his salt could miss out on the new Demon Hunter record, Extremist.  This album is a little bit more melodic then previous albums, but I personally think that is a good thin.

Now lets go from heavy metalcore to some bluesy, gritty garage rock.  The Strypes released a new album called Snapshot and it is amazing!  This band looks very young but has that Chuck Berry meets Blues Traveller vibe.  The songs are very catchy.
